Not Currently Accepting New Clients. I'm Allen Richards, I practice counseling within a psychiatric clinic with some excellent medical providers, St. George Children and Family Psychiatric Center. There's little I can tell you that can't be found elsewhere on your own should you endeavor to look. Instead, the work of therapy is creating an interpersonal experience and process that will allow effective use of your own hindered and hidden capabilities. I'm proficient helping couples, families, and individuals ages 10+ with varying mental health needs and goals. I enjoy this work, which will be quickly evident to you! Formal Therapy Skills: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Self Managed Recovery Training (SMART), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT). You might say regarding my clinical skills that I'm an "ace at some, bad at none." While I have many tools at my disposal, our partnership will be the foremost one! We often hear of being "well adjusted" but what does that mean? Adjusted to what? How does it go well, etc? "Well adjusted" describes how effectively we're responding to reality as evidenced by our inner peace, functionality, and connections. By accepting reality while striving to live our best life we can experience lasting and meaningful joy.
