Do you struggle with “feeling like yourself” again since having kids? Do you and your partner or spouse have trouble seeing eye-to-eye? Has intimacy changed since becoming parents? Have you experienced a recent traumatic birth experience? Many women (and men) choose not to seek the help that they need because these issues are not talked about enough in our society. Issues in the perinatal period can also look like rage or increased irritability, low motivation, feeling "stuck", not feeling connected to your partner/spouse, kids, or even yourself. I work with both men and women who are navigating struggles as new parents. Many of my clients see me because they are struggling to communicate with their partners and understand each others' expectations in parenting. Some of my clients seek therapy to better understand their new identity after having kids as friendships, career goals, and values change. I help couples identify their emotional needs and learn to communicate more effectively. I use interpersonal techniques to help new parents challenge perfectionist tendencies, understand their new roles and values, and learn relaxation techniques. You can book your free 15-minute initial consultation by emailing me on Psychology Today .
